• November 27: Club roster moves

Deadline to Exercise Options and Submit Bona Fide Offers: All clubs no longer participating in the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs must disclose to the league their roster moves.
Clubs still participating in the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs are required to submit their roster moves on the day after their final match of the postseason.
All roster decisions will be released by the individual clubs.

MLS clubs may conduct trades with other MLS teams during a brief trade window.

• December 10: 2024 MLS Expansion Draft protected lists released; Free Agents list released; End-of-Year Waivers list released
All 29 clubs will release their list of 12 players they choose to protect from the 2024 MLS Expansion Draft. In addition, all Homegrown players ages 25 and under and all Generation Adidas players are exempt from the draft.
In addition, the lists of players eligible for selection in the MLS Expansion Draft, Free Agents, and players eligible for the End-of-Year Waivers will be released by MLS Communications.

• December 11: 2024 MLS Expansion Draft
10:30 pm ET
San Diego FC may select up to five players from the eligible player list. San Diego are allotted three minutes for each selection. No trades are permitted during the draft — if San Diego are to trade a drafted player, that will take place after the conclusion of the draft.
Clubs that have a player selected will receive $50,000 in General Allocation Money.
• December 11 – 14: MLS College Showcase
A closed-door event in San Diego that will give the staff of every club an opportunity to scout collegiate prospects, including players with remaining NCAA eligibility.
• December 12: Free Agency opens

Clubs may engage with league players who are eligible for Free Agency. You can read the official Free Agency Rules & Procedures here.
• December 12: End-of-Year Waivers
5 pm ET
Players who do not meet the minimum requirements for the Re-Entry Process or Free Agency are eligible for End-of-Year Waivers. The process is conducted in reverse order of the 2024 season finish, including playoff results. Expansion side San Diego have the 30th and final pick in each round.

• December 13: Re-Entry Process, Stage 1

The Re-Entry Process, Stage 1 is conducted in reverse order of the 2024 season finish, including playoff results. 2024 MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy will have the 29th pick, and expansion side San Diego the 30th pick. Players who are at least 22 years old, have a minimum of one service year, and who are not eligible for Free Agency are eligible for the Re-Entry Process Stage 1. The list of players eligible for selection in the Re-Entry Process will be released by MLS Communications.

• December 17: Schedule for 2025 season announced
The schedule for the 2025 season will be announced.
December 19: Re-Entry Process, Stage 2
1 pm ET
The Re-Entry Process, Stage 2 is conducted in the same order as Stage 1 and includes MLS players not selected in Stage 1. The list of players eligible for selection in the Re-Entry Process will be released by MLS Communications.
• December 20: 2025 MLS SuperDraft
3 pm ET
The 2025 MLS SuperDraft consists of three rounds of player selection, and will be conducted in reverse order of 2024 season finish, including playoff results. Expansion side San Diego will have the top selection in each round.
• January: Primary transfer window opens
The dates of the primary transfer window are TBD.
