A sloppy New York City FC get a result against Inter Miami by holding onto a 1-1 draw at Chase Stadium in Miami Ft. Lauderdale.

This was supposed to be a battle between decided by two depleted defenses — both teams were missing key players in their back lines. Instead, it was determined by a New York City attack that was able to find a goal thanks to a moment of individual quality from Alonso Martínez — and a sterling five-save performance from NYCFC goalkeeper Matt Freese.
