The wait is over. New York City FC revealed the club's new primary kit for the 2025 and 2026 seasons: Say hello to the Excelsior Kit.
You can buy it here.
It's the sixth home jersey in club history and replaces the Interboro Kit, which has detailing that recalls the tile work of the city's subways. The Excelsior Kit instead is all cubist lines and gradations of light blue that reference how the sky is reflected in the glass towers of New York City: It's the skyline in a shirt.

The design marks the club's 10th year anniversary with a commemorative patch just above the hem. That patch will be available to fans at the home opener on March 8 and the following game on March 15. According to the club, "fans attending these games will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase the jersey with the anniversary patch in-stadium" on those days.
The shirt will be paired with contrasting white shorts, returning to the color scheme of the 2021/22 Bronx Blue Kit and the inaugural 2015/16 home kit.
Note that the new badge is not on the Excelsior Kit in 2025. According to the club, “this marks the final opportunity for fans to own a kit featuring the club’s inaugural badge, before the new emblem—already featured across the club’s media channels and materials—becomes the official mark on all New York City FC gear the following season."
The Excelsior shirts that will be sold in 2026 will have the new badge.

The Excelsior continues the club's departure from the designs of past kits. Most of New York City's home shirts have been more traditional, from the classic Bronx Blue Kit introduced in 2021 to the tailored detailing of the shirt introduced in 2017.
The Interboro Kit was more detailed than previous home kits, and more referential: It was the first to draw inspiration from the city. Now we move from the subterranean network that connects the Five Boroughs, to how the light and air look and feel one thousand feet above the city's streets: You have to hand it to the club and the designers at adidas for getting down the symbolism.
And you have to congratulate the club for another good kit launch. While the memorable Interboro photo shoot was in a bodega and outside at a subway station, our introduction to the Excelsior Kit is at The Edge, the observation deck above Hudson Yards. At 1100' above street level it's the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere.

Season ticket holders will remember it from last year's preseason event, when players and fans mingled with the greatest skyline in the world as a backdrop.
Not a bad inspo.
