Five members of the New York City FC First Team are away for the nine-day international break scheduled for the middle of the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs: Tayvon Gray, Alonso Martínez, Christian McFarlane, Jovan Mijatović, and Tomás Romero were all called up to their national teams.
In addition, Máximo Carrizo, Drew Baiera, Klevis Haxhari, and Jonathan Shore are also on international duty.
Tayvon Gray, Jamaica national team
Gray was first called up to the Jamaica national team in September 2023, and has featured regularly for the Reggae Boyz since then. Jamaica will face the United States Men’s National Team in the Concacaf Nations League twice this break, first in Kingston on Thursday, November 14 at 8 pm ET, then in St. Louis on Monday, November 18 at 8 pm ET.
Alonso Martínez, Costa Rica national team
Costa Rica is also playing a Concacaf Nations League double-header. Martínez will join the team when they host Panama in San José on Thursday, November 14 at 9 pm ET, then again when they travel to face them in Panama City on Monday, November 18 at 9 pm ET.
Christian McFarlane, England U18
McFarlane is joining the England U18 for a friendly vs Poland on Friday, November 15 at 6 am ET, and potentially a second game against Germany or Belgium on Monday, November 18.
Jovan Mijatović, Serbia U21
Mijatović is back with the Serbia U21 for a friendly against Turkey on Tuesday, November 19 at 12 pm ET.
Tomás Romero, El Salvador national team
Romero will be with El Salvador for the Concacaf Nations League as they host Bonaire on Thursday, November 14 at 8 pm ET, then travel to face Monserrat on Sunday, November 17 at 8 pm.
Carrizo will be joining the United States national men's team U17 training camp, while Baiera and Shore will be with the U19 training camp. Haxhari will be with the Albania training camp.
