Cincinnati took the lead in the sixth minute after Aaron Boupendza pounced on a rebound in front of the goal. The summer signing now has two goals in just three MLS appearances, and he troubled the NYCFC backline all night.
NYCFC spent the rest of the night chasing a game they had no chance of catching. The disorganized NYCFC defense was sliced apart time and again by Cincinnati playmaker Luciano Acosta, who finished the night with two assists.
