New York City FC welcomed Inter Miami CF and the sideshow that is playing at home against Lionel Messi, and James Sands scored at the absolute death to steal a point from Inter Messi & Co.

This was a euphoric finish for the home team but it also extended NYCFC's winless run to nine straight matches in MLS play. Still, what an improved performance it was on the heels of the 5-1 beating Nick Cushing's team took at midweek at the hands of the Philadelphia Union.

• The Miami attack was held in check for much of this game, but one moment was all it took for Jordi Alba to pick out Leo Campana for what looked like a late winner.
• It was a bounceback performance from Matt Freese in goal and from the back line in front of him, though they continue to struggle to keep clean sheets.
• James Sands was busy all afternoon disrupting passes for Lionel Messi, then headed home that equalizer for his first-ever NYCFC goal. Drama!

The ratings form will remain open until 11:59 pm on Sunday, September 22. Results will be published on the morning of Monday, September 23.
