Hudson River Blue spoke with Bryan Weigel of Cincinnati Soccer Talk to give us the dirt on FC Cincinnati, New York City FC’s opponent tomorrow in Matchday 15: Here’s your NYCFC vs Cincinnati preview.

If you remember, we spoke with Weigel just three weeks ago before NYCFC’s US Open Cup Round of 32 loss to Cincinnati. TBH a lot of what he said then still holds true now, so go ahead and give it a read after finishing the Oppo Research below.

Hudson River Blue: FC Cincinnati are looking regal these days: First place in the Supporters’ Shield and leading second-place Nashville by five points with a game in hand, undefeated since April 15. Bryan WeigelFC Cincinnati supporters are certainly experiencing a “pinch me” moment. That is not to say things have always been easy. Single-goal wins, controversial decisions, and a penalty shootout in the US Open Cup have seen FCC win with thin margins. Most “bounces” have gone FCC’s way at the moment, but with high congestion in the fixture schedule Cincinnati will have to come down to earth at some point.
