Well, that was fast.
Just one day after officially joining SC Corinthians on loan, Talles Magno scored in his debut for his new club in Brazil's Serie A. The 22-year-old attacker jumped on a loose ball in the goal area, slicing home the 94th-minute equalizer past Red Bull Bragantino goalkeeper Lucão.

It's quite the start for a player whose return to Brazil can be measured in hours.
And it's a stunning return to Serie A for a player who never quite met expectations at New York City. Talles Magno was largely iced out of the squad at NYCFC, making just four appearances this year and starting only once. With this performance, the 22-year-old now has two goals across two clubs in 180 minutes in all competitions in 2024.
The goal against Bragantino salvaged a point for Corinthians, who were playing at home in São Paulo. Corinthians are one of the giants of Brazilian soccer but they are currently down in 17th place in the Serie A table, which puts them in the relegation zone.
This draw gives Corinthians 21 points after 22 games, one point clear of Fluminense FC. The club are now just one point from safety with 17 games left in the 38-match season.
As we reported in these pages yesterday, the financial arrangements of the loan weren't disclosed by New York City or Corinthians to New York City. However, it was reported that Talles Magno is with Corinthians on a one-year loan for a $1.5 million fee, with a $13.5 million option to buy.
Performances like this one will likely prompt Corinthians to exercise that option, and permanently sign the highly-regarded attacker.
