New York City FC defeated Tigres UANL in the Leagues Cup Round of 16 on a beautiful night in New Jersey. NYCFC were officially the away team at Red Bull Arena, and even though the stadium is just a short PATH ride away from New York City, the crowd was mostly for Tigres.
No matter. New York City battled back after going down 1-0, and end a thrilling night of soccer – plus plenty of iffy officiating – with a well-earned 1-2 win. Not only will New York City advance in the tournament, they did it at the expense of a Tigres who handed them two painful losses in the 2020 Concacaf Champions Cup by a combined score of 5-0. NYCFC will next face Columbus Crew at Lower.com Field in the Quarterfinal.
Now it's your turn to rate all the New York City players, Head Coach Nick Cushing, and referee Keylor Herrera for their performances tonight.
• This officially counts as an away win
